What is design? Design begins with a fountain of questions: Who is this for? What is its purpose? How should it make us feel? So when it comes to the question: What is a bag? TORBOON says it is where it takes you; it is your trusted companion. What is a weave? A TORBOON weave is a meditation on traditional Thai patterns, elevated to a revolution of color and form. Custom dye-blends and original weaves are hand-built on the workshop floor.
TORBOON’s small-batch apparel, accessories and home products begin with the finest cotton thread (triple-spun for durability), full-grain leather, and custom hardware. Cosmopolitan design, world-renown Thai weaving, and exceptional leather treatment are the elements of our unique and versatile creations.

our sustainability practices
At TORBOON, sustainability begins with honoring our people. We employ Chiang Mai's indigenous weavers, respecting their craft and enabling them to remain near their families, rather than traveling for work. Our open-air factory stands in a teak forest, where the fresh air and proximity to nature promote the health and good spirit of our weavers. And, critically, employees receive wages sufficient to support their families.
Honoring our people means honoring their land, our land. Utilizing traditional, nearly century-old looms, our factory uses very little electricity, about as much as a modest residential home. We have developed a dye-water filtration process, so we release only clean water back to our rivers. Due to these efforts, and following a rigorous four-month study, the Thai Department of Environmental Quality Promotion certified TORBOON at its SILVER level, acknowledging the quality of our facility and process. We appreciate that our customers honor us, in turn.

We have been working toward Sustainable process and practice persistently. We have renewed and get audited our Green Production Process proofed by Department of Environmental Quality Promotion. This time we get the Silver rated instead of the Bronze rated as we have improved many processes. One of the great improvement process was the Water Based Adhesives for better quality of our people.
In late October 2021, we are proud of our supply chain, Leather Tannery factory that we have been working with for more than 6 years. They received the proof of the test of LWG Environmental Stewardship Audit with RW Leather Service Limited in Hong Kong. They received the Bronze rated.
